Water Services
Overview

The Utilities Division is responsible for the following water services:

  • Production and supply of safe and potable water to residents
  • Testing, monitoring, operating and maintaining six deep wells & five ION exchange water treatment plants
  • Preparation and operational reports
  • Reporting chemical dosage and residual monitoring
  • Implementing all required sampling and analysis as dictated by the mandates in the Safe Drinking Water Act and IEPA regulations
  • Repairing and maintaining the distribution system (See Spring 2010 Hydrant Flusing Schedule)
  • Reading and repairing water meters

Meter Reading Program

The Meter Reading Program provides the following services for water meters:

  • Installation
  • Replacement
  • Repair
  • Testing
  • Reading

The program is responsible for maintaining and reading approximately 6,400 meters: 5,900 residential, 400 commercial, and 100 industrial.

This year the Village continues the five-year upgrade of all “Touch Read” meters to “Radio Read” capability.
